The Hole in Your House
A downloadable game
This is one of my invasive games: games meant to encode and/or induce invasive / obsessive thought patterns. Players with anxiety or prone to compulsive behaviors should proceed with caution.
CWs: Feeling unsafe in one's own home, avoidant behavior.
As of this writing (5/19/24), I am living in – have been living in since January – a condo with no central heating, with broken pipes and holes in the walls, the floor torn up and unfinished, infested with cockroaches. I am a disabled woman, a wheelchair user; I used to pay friends to help out with the cleaning I couldn't easily do, but with the infestation, I no longer feel comfortable asking them.
As I wait for the legal process that would allow me to exit my lease to tick down to zero, I live in a haunted house – full of places I cannot look at or think about, lest I become drawn in, trapped in an unbreakable loop, like a ghost reliving their own murder. All our homes have such places in them; we know where they are and we carefully avoid looking.

You really nailed the sense of unease those parts of a house can bring on.
